Basketball Recap: Jesuit Tigers vs. Tampa Catholic Crusaders
Jesuit was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Tampa Catholic Crusaders, falling 79-58. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Crusaders from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.
Despite the loss, Jesuit still got an impressive performance from Tyler Caouette, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 20 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Flach, who posted ten points.
Tampa Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah Campbell-Finch, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine assists. What's more, Campbell-Finch also racked up six boards, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. K.J. Morgan was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 20 points and nine boards.
Jesuit's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Tampa Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.
Jesuit will welcome Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Tampa Catholic, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 75-65 victory against St. Petersburg on the 11th.
