Mason won against Ionia last Saturday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Bulldogs beat the Haslett Vikings by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.
Colton McCaleb made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. McCaleb was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Carson Chapin was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Travis Davis was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Mason pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Haslett, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.
Mason has already played their next contest (against East Lansing), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Haslett also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Portland.
