Volleyball Game Preview: Fairfield Falcons vs. Lakeland Lakers

The Fairfield Falcons will take on the Lakeland Lakers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Fairfield is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Fairfield took on Churubusco on Thursday. The Falcons walked away with a 3-1 win over the Eagles.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-13, 20-25, 25-16.

Lakewood Park Christian typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Lakeland proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 3-1. The Lakers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Lakeland had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-17.

Fairfield's win bumped their record up to 12-13. As for Lakeland, their victory bumped their record up to 15-11.

Fairfield skirted past Lakeland 3-2 in their previous meeting back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
