While Fernley's win against Elko wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vaqueros narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Indians 3-2. The Vaqueros haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Fernley got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 19-25, 25-20, 21-25, 15-11.

Trista Menesini paced Fernley's offense, picking up 19 kills. Menesini got some help from Alauna Escartin and her 29 assists. Finally, Grace Chapin kept Fernley's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Fernley's victory bumped their record up to 22-6. As for Elko, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season.

Fernley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Spring Creek on the 18th. As for Elko, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Dayton on the 18th.
