After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hico, Itasca was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Meridian Yellowjackets as they made off with a 15-5 win. The Wampus Cats haven't had any issues with the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Itasca got a massive performance out of Emma Malke, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Riley Littlejohn was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Itasca's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Meridian, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
Coming up, Itasca will challenge Frost at 5:00 p.m. on the 11th. As for Meridian, they will face off against Italy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Gladiators will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Yellowjackets surely won't give up without a fight.
