Baseball Recap: Chenango Valley Comes Up Short

Chenango Valley fell victim to Owego Free Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the River Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the River Hawks this season, with their most recent loss being a 1-0 defeat on Thursday.

Chenango Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Michalko, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Chenango Valley and nudges their season record down to 6-8. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Owego Free Academy, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-6.

Looking ahead, Chenango Valley will head out to face off against Seton Catholic Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Owego Free Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Waverly at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
