Braxton Pickett posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Tuesday. He struck out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). He has become a key player for Gunnison Valley: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-7 otherwise.

Pickett's strong effort led Gunnison Valley over Monticello and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
