The Faith Christian Academy Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight defeat. They lost to Cumberland Valley Christian at home by a decisive 45-29 margin. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Faith Christian Academy of the 49-32 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Cumberland Valley Christian found their leader in underclassman Addison Teal, who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Teal has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Victoria Price, who scored ten points.
Faith Christian Academy's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Cumberland Valley Christian, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Faith Christian Academy will face off against GVCS Broadfording at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Faith Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 269th in West Virginia, while GVCS Broadfording is ranked 122nd in Maryland). As for Cumberland Valley Christian, they will challenge Calvary Christian Academy at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Cumberland Valley Christian is facing Calvary Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Calvary Christian Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
