Baseball Recap: Collins-Maxwell Comes Up Short

If Collins-Maxwell was feeling good fresh off their 15-5 takedown of Colfax-Mingo on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Collins-Maxwell fell just short of the Clarksville Indians by a score of 2-1 on Monday. Collins-Maxwell was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Clarksville apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in June of 2024.

Collins-Maxwell has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Clarksville, their win ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Collins-Maxwell will square off against Janesville at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Clarksville, they will head out to take on BCLUW at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
