Soccer Recap: Abington Heights Has No Trouble Against Wilkes-Barre

The Abington Heights Comets made easy work of the Wilkes-Barre Wolfpack on Saturday and carried off a 9-1 victory. With Abington Heights ahead 7-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Their offense was hitting Wilkes-Barre from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Lilia Calvert led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for four goals all by herself.

Abington Heights' win bumped their record up to 2-0-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Abington Heights will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Valley View at 6:00 p.m. on September 3. As for Wilkes-Barre, they will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against Wyoming Area at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
