Baseball Recap: Sun Valley Comes Up Short

Sun Valley scored the most runs they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Henderson Warriors by a score of 3-2. The Vanguards have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Jackson Messick was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Sun Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Henderson, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Sun Valley will challenge rival Great Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Henderson is set to square off against their familiar foe Downingtown East at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
