Basketball Recap: Lakeside Takes a Loss

Lakeside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a hard 63-49 fall against the Chapel Hill Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 462nd, while the Panthers are ranked 93rd).

Despite the loss, Lakeside still got an impressive performance from Sterling Pritchett, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaan Fritz, who posted nine points.

Cj Geathers continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Chapel Hill, going 9 of 12 on his way to 22 points in addition to five boards and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Christian Mcallister, who went 5 of 9 en route to 12 points and three steals.

Lakeside's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Chapel Hill, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Lakeside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 53-37 loss against Chamblee on the 17th. As for Chapel Hill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 89-50 win against Douglas County on the 17th.
