Basketball Recap: Lincoln East Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

If Columbus wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Lincoln East, they should've done a better job of containing Luke Larson. The Lincoln East Spartans really took it to the Columbus Discoverers for the full four quarters, racking up an 85-58 victory thanks in part to Larson, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (eight).

Hudson Grau was another key player, going 5-for-8 en route to 11 points. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played.

Several Discoverers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Blake Barnett, who posted eight points. Another player making a difference was Quenton Gustafson, who scored eight points and five boards.

Lincoln East has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-14 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points over those games. As for Columbus, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-16.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln East will host Omaha Westside at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Omaha Westside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 70.1 points per game this season. As for Columbus, they will take on Grand Island at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
