Basketball Recap: Terry Sanford Drops Highest Score of Season Against Pine Forest

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Terry Sanford). They strolled past the Pine Forest Trojans with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 82-63. The win was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Terry Sanford to victory, but perhaps none more so than James Ravenell, who went 7 of 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 23 points. With that strong performance, Ravenell is now averaging an impressive 15.6 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Walker, who posted 17 points along with five assists and five boards.

Terry Sanford was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

When it comes to explaining why Pine Forest lost, don't look at Angelo Jones. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 boards. Jones has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Christian Baynes was another key player, putting up 11 points along with six assists and six boards.

The victory got Terry Sanford back to even at 3-3. As for Pine Forest, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Terry Sanford and South View will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. South View is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66 points per game this season. Pine Forest will take on E.E. Smith in a holiday battle at at 8:30 p.m. on December 19th. Pine Forest also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 63.8 points per game.
