Basketball Game Preview: Irving vs. Seward Park Bears

Irving is on a four-game streak of home losses, Seward Park a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, both will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 4:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Friday, Irving lost to Martin Luther King Jr Educational Campus on the road by a 48-33 margin.

Meanwhile, Seward Park ended up a good deal behind Laguardia last Friday and lost 46-28. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 466th, while Laguardia are ranked 188th).

Irving's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Seward Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Irving was able to grind out a solid win over Seward Park in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 58-48. Does Irving have another victory up their sleeve, or will Seward Park turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
