Volleyball Recap: Clovis West Takes a Loss

Clovis West lost against Clovis on October 1st and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles came up short against the Cougars, falling 3-0. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-15, 25-21.

Maliah Williams paced Clovis West's offense, picking up nine kills. Williams got some help from Eve Dixon and her 15 assists.

Clovis was led to victory by Jocelyn Yang and Reina Dvorak. Yang had 16 digs and four assists, while Dvorak had eight digs and two aces. Dvorak has been hot for a while, having also posted 18 or more assists the last 21 times she's played.

Clovis West's loss ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 25-12. As for Clovis, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 31-4 record this season.

Clovis West wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Clovis North on the 23rd. As for Clovis, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Central East on the 23rd.
