Basketball Game Preview: Soquel Knights vs. Christopher Cougars

The Soquel Knights will square off against the Christopher Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Monday, Soquel didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Branham, but they still walked away with a 57-53 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Soquel to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nico Ramirez, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Chase Petersen, who scored 11 points.

Meanwhile, Christopher waltzed into their matchup on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came out on top against the Longhorns by a score of 58-51. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 56th, while the Longhorns are ranked 278th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Christopher's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1. As for Soquel, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.
