Volleyball Recap: Johnson Jaguars vs. Steele Knights
If Johnson was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Judson on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Jaguars took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Steele Knights on Tuesday. The Jaguars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
Johnson started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-17, 25-19, 25-15.
Treycee Creek paced Johnson's offense, picking up 13 kills. Creek got some help from Macy Phillips and her 18 assists. Jenna Tello controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Steele found their leader in sophomore Kaycie Lopez, who had 14 assists and 13 digs. Those 13 digs set a new season-high mark for Lopez.
