Softball Recap: Northern Garrett Find Success

Northern Garrett took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Berlin Brothersvalley, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Huskies narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Mountaineers 2-1. This was payback for the Huskies, who suffered a 10-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Rain Ritchey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 12 Ks.

Northern Garrett's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Berlin Brothersvalley, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

The Campers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Huskies' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Berlin Brothersvalley, they will challenge Tussey Mountain at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Titans will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Mountaineers surely won't give up without a fight.
