Basketball Game Preview: Vero Beach Indians vs. Centennial Eagles

For the first time this season, Vero Beach will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will challenge the Centennial Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Vero Beach's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

On Saturday, Vero Beach was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 60-56 to Royal Palm Beach. The loss was the Indians' first of the season.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Tuesday. Centennial secured a 65-60 W over Stoneman Douglas.

Vero Beach better keep an eye on Jayden Prosper. He was instrumental in Centennial's win, dropping a double-double with 30 points and ten boards. That's the most rebounds Prosper has posted since back in November of 2024. Reggie Hayes was another key player, putting up 13 points and seven boards.

Vero Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Centennial, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Vero Beach couldn't quite finish off Centennial in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 and fell 73-71. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
