Basketball Game Preview: Ridgefield Spudders vs. WF West Bearcats

The Ridgefield Spudders just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the WF West Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Ridgefield is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Columbia River just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They were dealt a 92-50 loss at the hands of the Rapids. The loss was the Spudders' first of the season.

Meanwhile, WF West took care of business in their home opener on Wednesday (and then some). They breezed by Battle Ground to the tune of 61-34. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Bearcats have posted since January 2nd.

Ridgefield better keep an eye on Carlos Vallejo. He was instrumental in WF West's win, putting up 22 points. Gage Brumfield was another key player, posting nine points.

Ridgefield's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-1. As for WF West, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.

Ridgefield barely slipped by WF West in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, winning 52-51. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ridgefield since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
