Softball Recap: Columbia River Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Columbia River came tearing into Monday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Washougal Panthers with a sharp 17-1 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 32-1 back in April.

Haylee Delano made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, Columbia River let Emily Hull and Ruby Lew run wild. Hull went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two doubles, while Lew fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits Hull has posted since back in April of 2025. Ella Easter also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Columbia River always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Washougal only posted an OBP of .167.

Columbia River's record is now 12-5. As for Washougal, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Columbia River will square off against rival Mark Morris at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rapids 3.5, the Monarchs 0.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Washougal is set to take on their familiar foe Woodland at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
