Soccer Game Preview: Oglethorpe County vs. Meadowcreek

The Oglethorpe County Patriots will head out to take on the Meadowcreek Mustangs at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Oglethorpe County will be strutting in after a victory while Meadowcreek will be coming in after a defeat.

Oglethorpe County will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals back in March, then bounced right back against Putnam County on Tuesday. The Patriots were the clear victors by a 5-0 margin over the War Eagles. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Oglethorpe County's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Meadowcreek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 9-2 to The King's Academy. While losing is never fun, Meadowcreek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 226th, while The King's Academy are ranked 38th).

Oglethorpe County's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Meadowcreek, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.
