Football Recap: Donna Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Donna's offense. They were beaten by the Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial Eagles 46-0 on Friday. The Redskins were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Luke Guerrero threw for 36 yards on one of seven attempts. Evan Rosales was his top target, picking up 36 receiving yards.

It was another big night for Andrew Charlebois, who rushed for 134 yards and three touchdowns for Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial. Charlebois' rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his eighth straight game with at least 124 rushing yards dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Winans, who threw for 147 yards and a pair of TDs.

This is the second loss in a row for Donna and nudges their season record down to 2-6. As for Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Donna is set to face off against their familiar foe Harlingen South at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial will take on rival Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
