Basketball Recap: Princeton Victorious

Princeton won the last time they faced North Duplin, and Teo McPhatter did his part to make sure it happened again. The Princeton Bulldogs put the hurt on the North Duplin Rebels with a sharp 90-69 victory on Thursday thanks in part to McPhatter, who went 7 of 9 from beyond the arc on his way to 33 points along with five boards and four steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 18 points per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Pate, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 boards. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played.

When it comes to explaining why North Duplin lost, don't look at Donavan Armwood. Despite the final result, he went 9 of 20 on his way to 30 points and five rebounds. Those 30 points gave Armwood a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Duquan Stevens, who posted seven points.

Princeton's record now sits at 5-6. As for North Duplin, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Princeton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-49 loss against Hobbton on the 3rd. As for North Duplin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 59-48 win against Wayne Christian on the 3rd.
