Baseball Recap: Stone Comes Up Short

Stone managed to slip by East Central the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Stone came up short against East Central on Tuesday, falling 16-4. The Tomcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Stone saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ayden Obenhaus, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Stone has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. East Central moved to 6-11 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

While Stone had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
