Basketball Recap: Brayden Murray Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Puckett

Hazlehurst won the last time they faced Puckett and things went their way on Monday too. The Indians walked away with a 55-42 win over the Wolves. While the Indians didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Hazlehurst's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brayden Murray, who posted 17 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakavion Johnson, who had 21 points.

Hazlehurst smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Puckett's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Matt Rankin, who scored 16 points, and Kaleb Coleman, who put up 15 points.

Hazlehurst is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Puckett, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Hazlehurst wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 67-64 victory against Wesson on the 25th. As for Puckett, they have also already played their next matchup, a 40-37 loss against Clarkdale on the 25th.
