Softball Recap: Mendon Unity Triumphs

Mendon Unity took an eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Pleasant Hill, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Mustangs had just enough and edged out the Wolves 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since April 3, 2025.

Addison Spilker made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off 14 hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Tegan Campbell was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2025. Kassidy Matticks was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Mendon Unity and bumps their season record up to 3-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Pleasant Hill, they dropped their record down to 2-14 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

As of now, neither Mendon Unity nor the Wolves have any future games scheduled.
