Recap: Strafford Indians vs. Sparta Trojans
If the Strafford Indians were riding high off their 70-35 takedown of the Willow Springs Bears on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Strafford fell to Sparta 67-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Jacob Lafferty was on fire for Sparta: he dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Lafferty has scored at least 25% of Sparta's points. Another player making a difference was Trenton Ingle, who scored 12 points.
Strafford's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Sparta, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Strafford will play host again and welcome El Dorado Springs, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sparta, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Purdy at 6:00 p.m.
