Cardinal Newman came tearing into Saturday's matchup with seven straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Ransom Everglades Raiders.

Lyla Buser paced Cardinal Newman's offense, picking up eight kills. Buser got some help from Dayana Acevedo and her 18 assists. Olivia Peterson controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Ransom Everglades lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Abigail Zichella, who had five kills and five digs. Zichella is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least five every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Nalah Picchetti, who had 14 assists.

Cardinal Newman's win bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Ransom Everglades, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
