Volleyball Game Preview: Layton Lancers vs. Syracuse Titans

Layton is 1-9 against Syracuse since October of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Lancers will face off against the Titans at 5:00 p.m.

Layton managed to slip by Davis the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Lancers lost 3-0 to the Darts on Tuesday.

Layton might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Davis: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-23, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Syracuse got the win against Davis on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Titans.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-16, 25-14.

Syracuse's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Layton, their loss dropped their record down to 8-16.

Layton suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Syracuse when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Lancers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
