High school basketball is about to lose some serious starpower as Eric Sondheimer of the Los Angeles Times reported Monday that junior phenom LaMelo Ball is leaving Chino Hills (Calif.).

Sondheimer indicated via Twitter that Big Baller Brand CEO and LaMelo's father, LaVar Ball, will continue his son's education on and off the floor at home.
Ball averaged 26.7 points and nearly 10 assists per game in 2016-17 at Chino Hills, helping the Huskies go 30-3 and earning MaxPreps Sophomore All-American honors.

As a freshman, he joined brothers Lonzo and LiAngelo in the starting lineup at Chino Hills and helped the team go 35-0 en route to section, state and national titles.

LaMelo is committed to play at UCLA and regarded as a Top 25 prospect in the Class of 2019 by 247Sports.
