Flag Football Recap: San Clemente Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

San Clemente dropped to 9-6 on Tuesday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins at home. They fell 42-35 to the Beckman Patriots. Despite 328 more yards than the Patriots, the Tritons couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

San Clemente's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chloe Williams, who threw for 469 yards and five TDs while completing 84.2% of her passes, and also rushed for 82 yards on only seven carries. Another pass catcher making a difference was Giselle Nacelli, who picked up 213 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

As for Beckman, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.6 points on average over those games.

Marina Babayani was her usual excellent self, throwing for 307 yards and five touchdowns on perfect 28-for-28 passing, while also rushing for 30 yards and one TD. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in passer rating (170.7).

San Clemente didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 20-7 victory against Tesoro on the 24th. As for Beckman, they have also already played their next game, a 41-0 win against Capistrano Valley on the 30th.
