The Brandon Academy Scorpions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 87-19 victory over Cristo Rey Tampa on the road. The final score was a far cry from the score of their previous head-to-head, which saw the teams combine for two points.
Shavon Birch continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah McNeely, who scored 14 points along with five steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Brandon Academy and bumps their season record up to 5-10. As for Cristo Rey Tampa, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
Brandon Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Canterbury at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Canterbury is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Cristo Rey Tampa, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tampa Bay Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
