Delsea barely beat Deptford the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Crusaders put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 19-6 win on Wednesday. That looming 19-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Crusaders yet this season.

Ethan Dubois made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over 5.1 innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his six plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Pierce Delaney was a standout: he got on base in four of his six plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Chase Dewitt was another key player, going 1-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Delsea always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .560. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive matchups.

Delsea is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Deptford, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Delsea and Deptford could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings. The Crusaders will face off against Immaculata at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (199 vs. 17). Meanwhile, Deptford (ranked 301st) will meet Williamstown (ranked 61st) on Saturday.
