Baseball Recap: Anderson Comes Up Short

Anderson lost against Lafayette Jefferson on Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Indians took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bronchos. That's two games in a row now that the Indians have lost by exactly four runs.

Anderson saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Branson Hemme, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base. Hemme has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Braylon Boone also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Anderson and nudges their season record down to 10-9. As for Lafayette Jefferson, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Anderson will host Shenandoah at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lafayette Jefferson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Western at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Bronchos' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
