Baseball Recap: Freeburg Gets the Win

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Freeburg nor Mt. Vernon made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Midgets walked away with a 4-1 win over the Rams. The Midgets haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Freeburg got a great performance from Christian Giovando as he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

At the plate, Beau Breyman was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

Freeburg's win bumped their record up to 17-14. As for Mt. Vernon, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-18.

Freeburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mt. Vernon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Highland at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight.
