Colbert County waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Mars Hill Bible Panthers by a score of 6-1. This was payback for the Indians, who suffered a 14-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Kylee Holland was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Mallory Gargis, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Colbert County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are 9-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Colbert County's victory bumped their record up to 17-14-1. As for Mars Hill Bible, their loss dropped their record down to 29-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colbert County will square off against Red Bay at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Mars Hill Bible, they will head out on the road to face off against Lauderdale County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
