Jaelynn Duke was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Duke has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 15 consecutive pitching appearances. Duke was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, and a double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Katie Vonrosenberg, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Rylie Hammond, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Texas earned an 8-5 victory over Pine Tree on Tuesday.

Eva Treadway spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Cali Forte and Brooklyn Threadgill did most of the damage at the plate: Forte went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI, while Threadgill scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Mally Lumpkin was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Huntsville is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 27-4 record this season. As for Texas, their record is now 20-12-1.

Thursday's game will be a test for both team's pitchers. Huntsville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .386.
