Mount Notre Dame was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Mercy McAuley on Wednesday. Mount Notre Dame was the clear victor by a 10-1 margin over Mercy McAuley. The victory continues a trend for Mount Notre Dame in their matchups with Mercy McAuley: they've now won seven in a row.
Audrey Gildea spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Josie Broenner was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Grace Pitzer, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Milford). Everything went their way against Winton Woods on Monday as they made off with an 18-2 win. The victory was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on four straight.
Kristine Ruehl was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Ruehl was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Milford got a massive performance out of Gabby Jones, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those hits were Jones' first of the season. Lanie McCoy was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Milford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .684. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Mount Notre Dame's record is now 8-4. As for Milford, their record now sits at 10-6.
Mount Notre Dame came up short against Milford when the teams last played back in April of 2023, falling 5-0. Can Mount Notre Dame avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
