Baseball Recap: Goleman Takes a Loss

Goleman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 10-4 to the Mater Lakes Academy Bears. The Gators were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bears from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Adrian Santos was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.

On the hitting side, Ethan Cabrera was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Goleman's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Mater Lakes Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Goleman will challenge ABF Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mater Lakes Academy, they will square off against Hialeah Gardens at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hialeah Gardens will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Mater Lakes Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
