Soccer Game Preview: Shadow Ridge vs. Browne

The Shadow Ridge Stallions will square off against the Browne Bruins at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Shadow Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.2 goals per game this season.

Shadow Ridge will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Saturday, then bounced right back against South Mountain on Wednesday. Shadow Ridge blew past South Mountain 7-1. The contest marked the Stallions' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Their offense was hitting South Mountain from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Nathan Johansen led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Browne was not quite Tolleson's equal in the second half on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 1-0. The Bruins haven't had much luck with the Wolverines recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Browne's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Shadow Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 4-1-1.

Shadow Ridge beat Browne by a goal in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 1-0. Will Shadow Ridge repeat their success, or does Browne have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
