Basketball Recap: Cumberland County's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Cumberland County came into Monday's match having lost 16 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They enjoyed a cozy 57-42 victory over the Gordonsville Tigers on Monday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Jets' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 362nd, while the Tigers are ranked 156th).

Cumberland County's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-11. As for Gordonsville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-3-1.

Cumberland County will take on North Bullitt in a holiday battle at on Thursday. As for Gordonsville, they will take on West in a tournament on Friday.
