Basketball Game Preview: Coupeville Wolves vs. La Conner Braves

Coupeville is 0-10 against La Conner since May of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The Coupeville Wolves will head out to face off against the La Conner Braves at 6:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Coupeville is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since January 20, 2024 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 69-31 defeat at the hands of Mount Vernon Christian. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 83rd).

Meanwhile, La Conner unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 48-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Orcas Island.

La Conner's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Coupeville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-9.

Coupeville came up short against La Conner in their previous matchup on January 10th, falling 43-30. Can Coupeville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
