Baseball Recap: Niles West Wolves vs. Deerfield Warriors
Niles West blew Deerfield out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday Deerfield got their revenge. The Wolves fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 7-5. The Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Niles West got a good showing from Tom Cullen, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Cullen has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Kevin Foley and Lucas Som stepped up to the plate in a big way. Foley went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI, while Som went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
