Preview: Tyler Lions vs. Forney Jackrabbits
The Tyler Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Forney Jackrabbits at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tyler will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 98th, while Forney is ranked 21st).
Tyler might've scored the first points on Friday, but it was Longview who claimed the real prize. Tyler was the victim of a rough 34-12 loss at the hands of Longview. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
Derrick Mcfall put forth a good effort for the losing side as he gained 100 total yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Forney stacked a seventh blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They really took it to McKinney North for the full four quarters, racking up a 40-7 victory at home. The score was close at the half, but Forney pulled away in the second half with 30 points.
Forney got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Javian Osborne out in front who rushed for 183 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.0 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Crawford, who threw for 295 yards and three touchdowns on only 19 passes.
Tyler's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Forney, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Tyler was taken down by Forney 57-13 in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Will Tyler have more luck at home instead of on the road?
