Softball Recap: Baldwin County Comes Up Short

Baldwin County lost against Spanish Fort two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Tigers fell 4-1 to the Toros. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Madilyn Byrd spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

Baldwin County's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Spanish Fort, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season.

Baldwin County will take on Fairhope at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Spanish Fort, they will host McGill-Toolen at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
