Volleyball Recap: Appleton East Patriots vs. Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Appleton East had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They came out on top against the Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts by a score of 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Patriots: when they faced off against the Galloping Ghosts back in September, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-21, 23-25, 25-19.
Kaukauna's loss came despite strong showings from Brenna Matthies and Ava Reader. Matthies had 12 digs and two aces, while Reader had 23 digs and two aces. With that strong performance, Reader is now averaging an impressive 10.1 digs per game. Kala Lahm also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
