Basketball Recap: Brunswick's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Brunswick lost to Bradwell Institute back in December of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Brunswick Pirates enjoyed a cozy 72-55 victory over the Bradwell Institute Tigers. The win was familiar territory for the Pirates who have now won five matches in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brunswick to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caleb Butler, who shot 4-for-5 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 boards. That's the most rebounds Butler has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Heze Kent, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 22 boards.

Brunswick smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

When it comes to explaining why Bradwell Institute lost, don't look at Christopher Perry. Despite the final result, he posted 19 points. Perry has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jordan Stevens, who earned 12 points and six rebounds.

Brunswick's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-1. As for Bradwell Institute, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-4.

Brunswick has already played their next game, a 65-37 win against Camden County on the 14th. As for Bradwell Institute, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 58-49 victory against Statesboro on the 14th.
