Soccer Recap: James Monroe Comes Up Short

If James Monroe was feeling good fresh off their 5-1 takedown of Princeton on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mavericks fell just short of the Shady Spring Tigers by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. Maija Kubes probably wasn't too happy after the match: she scored every single goal for James Monroe and still walked away on the losing team.

James Monroe's loss dropped their record down to 6-2-1. As for Shady Spring, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. James Monroe will face off against Midland Trail at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Shady Spring, they will venture away from home to square off against Bluefield at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
